Red Hat Summit and DevNation 2016

Transitioning from Red Hat Satellite 5 to 6

Session Speakers
Session Description

Get current with the latest in Red Hat's systems management platform. Red Hat Satellite 6 is the best-in-class management platform for Red Hat Enterprise Linux-based systems, no matter what footprint: physical, virtual, or cloud. Red Hat Satellite is also an important component of the larger Red Hat suite of management technologies such as OpenShift by Red Hat, Red Hat CloudForms, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform. In this session, we'll walk through various scenarios for customers seeking to transition from previous versions of Red Hat Satellite to Red Hat Satellite 6. We'll cover planning, the process, and then showcase available tooling that will help you migrate subscriptions, server and data constructs, and the client systems themselves. Will Darton, of Navy Federal Credit Union, will share his migration experience and will be available to answer questions.
